This method is totally secure and I have no part in it. Vodaphone and Justgiving have come up with it and it even includes gift aid:

• After making a donation, donors will be prompted by a text message to submit their details so that Gift Aid can be reclaimed.
• They will be directed to a form that has been optimised to view on a mobile phone and asked to fill-in their First Name, Last Name, House Number, Postcode and email address.
