Lean mean commuting machine! The cyclescheme bike has arrived….

Another clothes hanger for the hallway…..

Not really! but it makes you wonder how many bikes ordered on the scheme are actually used for 50% of journeys to work (the agreement my employers stipulate when ordering a bike from cyclescheme). I’m a bit apprehensive about travelling the distance in to work after such a long time away from the saddle, especially as my commute has gone up from 8 miles each way to 20 miles. So in the process of kicking my own backside into riding the bike instead of taking the comfy car I’ve written down the reasons I’ve had in the past and the ones I’ve heard from others for not using a cycle for the work commute. I’ve come up with my10 (ish) reasons not to wimp out of the pedal powered work commute.” and will publish it as a post soon!

In the meantime here it is! My new bike. I’ve managed to get some babysitting organised to allow me to do a test run to work and back tomorrow. Glen (the other rider for the Camino) is coming too so I’ll take a bit of rope so he can tow me home….. I’ll let you know how it goes…..

This blog: Tony Hemans and Glen Eccles cycled the Camino Frances from St jean Pied de Port in France to Santiago de Compostela covering 845km in 6 days in October 2012.  If you are trying to get fit, planning an adventure, long distance cyclist or just curious about my mid-life crisis then subscribe and share!
